Road Closures in the Westfjords!
The roads between Skötufjörður and Ísafjörður (61) Brjánslækur and the waterfall Dynjandi (60) and the mountain pass between Hrafnseyri and Þingeyri (60) are CLOSED! Difficult driving conditions on other roads in the area!
Highway 1 Road Closures!
Highway 1 between Jökladalur and Mývatn, between Lómagnúpur (west of Skaftafell) and Höfn, 40km west of Djúpivogur, and between Fagridalur and Egilsstaðir and Seyðisfjörður, roads 862 and 864 to Dettifoss are CLOSED as well as all the roads in the highlands. Many smaller roads are also closed, check road.is to see if your travel plans will be affected.
Blizzard and Avalanche Risk in the Westfjords!
Blizzard is expected today (Nov 22) until Friday in the Westfjords along with difficult conditions on roads. Uncertainty phase in effect due to avalanche risk. Bad traveling conditions with poor visibility!
