All Covid-19 pandemic restrictions will be lifted on Friday night, both domestically and at the border. This was stated in the case of Willum Þór Þórsson, Minister of Health, after a cabinet meeting today.

Earlier today, the epidemiologist announced that general PCR sampling should be discontinued and that rapid diagnostic tests will be used instead. A positive result from them will be sufficient to diagnose Covid-19 disease. Those who are diagnosed will also not be required to be in isolation, even if it is recommended.
