Rebooking

Camper Iceland is introducing more flexible rebooking options effective immediately. The new policy for rebooking applies existing and future bookings worldwide.

Camper Iceland will waive the rebooking fees for all newly booked rentals worldwide with immediate effect and until March 31. The offer is limited to a one-off rebooking (one time). For existing bookings, the new policy will apply worldwide to all camper & motor home booked by March 31st and with a departure date in 2020 without incurring any rebooking fee. The offer does not stipulate a new contract, hence all cancellations apply to the original booking. F.e. if you rebook (move) the booking to 2021 and then cancel, the same cancellation policy applies as to your first pick up date.

For changes please email us including the booking number, normally starting with KEF#.

Rebooking must be made latest 14 days before the departure (pick -up date). Why is that? We will have prepared the vehicle, received inspection of government and insured it leading to severe cost.

With this new policy, Camper Iceland is responding to the wish of many customers to make the travel plans more flexible under the exceptional circumstances caused by the spread of the coronavirus.

Cancellations

If you do not wish to rebook with us but to cancel, the following policy applies. Until 50 days before beginning of rental 20% with a minimum of € 200 of rental price Between 49 to 15 days before beginning of rental 50 % of rental price Less than 15 days before beginning of rental 100 % of rental price At rental day / day of pick up or by no show 100 % of rental price Later changes are not permitted.

Travel Insurance

We are insured against bankruptcy, another strong point of our company

The Swiss Travel Security (STS) ensures that the money our customers pay to our account is safe. Camper Iceland pays an annual fee and has deposited large funds to a locked bank account in order to have this insurance for you. In case that we would go bankrupt the STS would refund your money rapidly. In addition to that insurance STS checks their members at least annually for seriousness and reliability.

News and Letter to our customers

Dear Customers

The Coronavirus disease (COVID-19) is currently the main topic on all news channels. It is difficult to make a statement as to where this will lead at the moment. We here at Camper Iceland will focus on the travel industry and point out a few things.

More availability
As written in the Icelandic news this is probably a temporary situation. The travel season has begun but has yet to reach the high season. The main difference to the years before you will probably be able to book Icelandic services with a shorter notice. The reason is simple, people around the world have other things to worry about right now but to book a trip to Iceland for July.

Strong brand
Camper Iceland is a strong brand! We have low loans and a wonderful cooperation with our bank. In addition to that our travel agency is insured against bankruptcy. We are probably one of a few companies that can make that statement. Your booking is safe with us.

Strong concept
If you decide to travel to Iceland what better solution is there then choosing a Motor Home. If you are afraid of crowds the Motor Home is probably the best solution. You decide where to travel, when to visit the sites and you can uphold a high hygiene standard.

Hygene standards, World Health Organization
Maintain social distancing
Maintain at least 1 metre (3 feet) distance between yourself and anyone who is coughing or sneezing. Why? When someone coughs or sneezes they spray small liquid droplets from their nose or mouth which may contain virus. If you are too close, you can breathe in the droplets, including the COVID-19 virus if the person coughing has the disease.

Avoid touching eyes, nose and mouth
Why? Hands touch many surfaces and can pick up viruses. Once contaminated, hands can transfer the virus to your eyes, nose or mouth. From there, the virus can enter your body and can make you sick.

Practice respiratory hygiene
Make sure you, and the surrounding people, follow good respiratory hygiene. This means covering your mouth and nose with your bent elbow or tissue when you cough or sneeze. Then dispose of the used tissue immediately. Why? Droplets spread virus. By following good respiratory hygiene you protect the surrounding people from viruses such as cold, flu and COVID-19.

The Icelandic government
Our government has rented a Hotel in down town Reykjavík where sick travelers can go if they get sick.
